One of the simple pleasures in life is to be able to sit down to a homecooked meal.

Had a small and quiet celebration to usher in the Year of the Ox with mom, dad and sis (she’s the one in the photo taking food photos like me!). Even though we have meals together all the time, it is always extra special when it comes to reunion dinner to be able to spend it together as a family.
Going to move to Newcastle in a weeks’ time, and who knows what the future holds? Whatever it may be, I hope I can still spend Lunar New Year and have reunion dinners with my family for many years to come. ![]()

This is a raspberry baked cheesecake tart that my mom made for dessert last evening. I’m not a big fan of cheesecakes in general, and the only one I’ll usually eat would be the fluffy and light japanese style cheesecakes, but this one was too pretty, so I had to photograph it. ![]()

I do enjoy cooking a lot, and usually prefer cooking for myself, or just for a few people. Don’t really like cooking for a large crowd or party since it feels less personal and more like an operation.

I had a craving for something spicy and sour the other day, so I made myself kimchi noodle soup for lunch. ![]()
I really like cooking; it’s fun to create with food, and best of all, you get to enjoy and eat the end products too! And lately, I’ve also found that I like to photograph food, so it’s been even more fun to cook and dress the dishes for photos. ![]()
The kimchi noodle soup pictured was made with: instant noodles, rehydrated shitake mushrooms, tomatoes, chilli powder and flakes, a hard boiled egg and store bought kimchi. Yummy!
